OK, so here we are, the liberal media is out of bankruptcy with a new president, Mark Green, and decisions have to be made.
My complaint:
Losing Marc Maron was a mistake of the last management, but not paying him what he was owed was the choice of Mark Green so he's gone. That being said, moving Sam Sedar from a five day three hour slot to a three hour weekend show to critique the "Meet the Establishment" Sunday shows from the bloggers perspective could also be a huge mistake. It's only compounded by filling Sam Sedar's space with a highly rated New York "liberal" with a single name and no national recognition. As Green excused his decision, to paraphrase: In the 9-12 slot, we don't want anything too intellectual taxing or thoughtful going on!
Thankfully, DK starts it's day at 6am Eastern, so there'll still be a liberal area to think in from 9-12 that Lionel and Springer before him wont need to think about.
However, David Bender (Politically Direct) interviewed Mark Green last night about the changes, below the fold is a more or less accurate schedule and line up I gleaned from the fireside chat.
The Three Little Pugs
Fri Apr 13, 2007 at 09:02:45 AM PDT
Once upon a time there were three little Pugs and the time came for them to leave the establishment trough and go outside the beltway to seek some voters.
Before they left, Mother Rove told them "Whatever you do, lie continually and be the dirtiest low down scum that you can because that's the way to get ahead in the new world order we've created."
The first little Pug built his house out of War because it was the easiest thing to do.
The second little Pug built his house out of religious Hicks because his faith was supposed to be stronger than the house of War.
The third little Pug built his house out of Pricks, because authoritarians and vulture capitalists always crave more power and money.

I'm quite an avid hidden comments reader, as many are. Some days there's a good five minutes of entertainment. Watching the abusers and the abused, the righteous and the freeper. Seeing what's been bad to say today, what's allowed and what word or thought is now on the proscribed list, but that's as far as it goes ... usually
Perhaps there are sub-groups yet to be discovered but I think today I've identified the bulk of the species ...
WH discovers costs and troop numbers for surge
Sat Mar 10, 2007 at 02:33:33 PM PDT
Something I read here several times recently: That it was obvious that the WH spin of 20,000 combat troops was disingenuous as the support staff needed for the "surge" far exceeded the combat troops ..... It seems now that the WH realizes too and have gone public with it.
After he'd left for Montevideo, Bush released a rejigged request for funds to Nancy Pelosi with an accompanying note:
"This revised request would better align resources based on the assessment of military commanders to achieve the goal of establishing Iraq and Afghanistan as democratic and secure nations that are free of terrorism,"

The 'useful idiots' of the kleptocracy
Mon Feb 19, 2007 at 07:42:17 AM PDT
Modern Republicanism had over a decade to prove it was something greater than empty rhetoric, message management and stealing.
Having finally reached a magic credibility rating of zero, added a mile high hill of body bags to their name and fed the entire treasury to backers and cronies. There was really nothing more than obfuscation and lip service to reward the people's needs.
But we all know that ...
Being a partisan Republican is easy, nothing is required of you except to repeat the latest distraction. It's the ideology of noise: Mouth open, brain disengaged, who to hate and who's to blame.
We know that too ...
We spend hours researching and googling press clippings and statements to ridicule politicians and pundits but it's their job to bamboozle, to support the ever the changing rationales and create the new realities .... However, everything Republican Americans have ever said is on record too - They just don't realize it ....

Bush is interviewed on Tonight program UK (4th July)
Tue Jul 05, 2005 at 05:07:50 AM PDT
Bush on Blair: We'll use the words friends and allies in reference to the UK, but there's no special favors at the G8 ...
PRESIDENT BUSH: Well, again, I really don't view our relationship as one of, you know, we both make decisions and try to earn credit with each other on a personal basis. Tony Blair made decisions on what he thought was best for keeping the peace and winning the war on terror, as did I.

Moral Moron - You've Been Framed

The moral moron agreed with Republicans that killing up to 18,000 people a year from lack of healthcare is the best way to make the health service more efficient.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that invading Iraq on a lie was the best way to display moral leadership.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that closing schools if they underperform is the best way to educate children under the provisions of the No Child Left Behind bill.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that rewarding corporations with tax breaks to send jobs abroad is a great boost to the economy.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that giving tax breaks to the top one % is the best way to destroy Social Security.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that intelligent design will provide the cure for cancer.
The moral moron agreed with Republicans that cutting benefits from frontline troops is good for morale.
In no particular the framing continues below the fold :)
